My name is Michael P. Kearns, Buffalo Common Council Member representing the South District, and I am running for Mayor of the City of Buffalo.
We have a choice about the path our city will follow. We can choose what type of city Buffalo will become. We don't have to settle for the status quo and continue to live with the mistakes of the past.
Over the past few months, I have visited neighborhoods across the city. I've spoken with citizens about the issues we face today and our shared vision for the future. In the coming months, I plan to visit every Buffalo neighborhood. I want to hear your ideas about how we can make our city a better place to live.
We've all heard from City Hall, but I want City Hall to hear from you. Together, we have the power to change our city. Together, we can make Buffalo great again.
Sincerely,
Michael P. Kearns

As a member of the Common Council, Michael Kearns has made City Hall start to work for the people of Buffalo:
- Created a Neighborhood Accountability Board, a proactive board of public officials and private citizens to address housing and neighborhood concerns;
- Fought successfully on behalf of residents for the Hickory Woods Settlement, a 12-year-old environmental contamination claim;
- Implemented Floodplain Insurance Reform, saving residents from the burden of paying costly flood insurance premiums;
- Proposed a Water Ratepayer Bill of Rights to clarify Water Authority policies and streamline billing procedures;
- Introduced Smart Code legislation to update and streamline the city's antiquated zoning codes to promote quality-of-life and spur new economic development...
